Land for new state park!

Mid-March 2024 Trust for Public Land acquired 734 acres of land in the Del Rio Springs Ranch and conveyed the property to Arizona State Parks & Trails, where it will become a new state park at the headwaters of the Verde River. This property includes Sullivan Lake (at start of the Verde River), land around Del Rio Springs, and the old Santa Fe railroad bed. The rail bed can be used for extending the Peavine National Recreation Trail from City of Prescott & Town of Chino Valley to the start of the river for a total length of 20+ miles.
